Spring Canvas

Good Morning Crafters

Today we have a beautiful spring canvas to share with you by our Pandy.

I suppose we are all looking forward to spring now! I for one will be glad to see the back of winter.

Products used in this project can be found on the Personal Impressions website.

You will need the following to create this canvas!

Canvas panel
Viva Vintage Look Chalk Paint - light green - dark green
Viva Relief Paste
Viva Paper Flowers
Dylusions Ink Sprays - White – Lemon Zest – Fresh Lime
Sweet Dixie Decorative Circular Frames (SDD094)
Memento Ink Pads – Dandelion – Bamboo Leaves
Kaiser Colour Paint – Green – White
Tim Holtz Stencils - Gothic (THS026) – Splotches (THS037)
Tim Holts Distress Inks – Mustard Seed – Mowed Lawn
Tim Holts Stamp Mixed Media (CMS125)
My colours Cardstock – Lemon Sorbet – Crisp Green
All the bling you can find!
Hot glue gun

Step 1

Prepare the canvas background:
Take a baby wipe and lightly wipe over the canvas with the Viva Vintage Look Chalk Paint - light green - dark green.

Step 2

Scuff over the edges and surface with Memento Ink Pads – Dandelion – Bamboo Leaves.  Don’t forget to do the side edge too.

Step 3

Give a good spritz with Dylusions Ink Sprays - White – Lemon Zest – Fresh Lime.

Step 4

Add some background pattern with the Tim Holts Stamp Mixed Media and the Memento Ink Pads

Step 5

Put a big blob of the Kaiser Colour Paints on your mat and use a baby wipe to add the paint to the canvas through the Gothic stencil.  Add the green and white in patches and let them mix together as you dab them on.

Step 6

Add the Viva Relief Paste through the Splotches stencil.  I have left the paste plain white – but sprinkled over with glitter while still wet.  Leave well alone to dry properly.

Step 7

 Prepare the Spring Flowers Wreath

Use the largest Circle die to cut out the Green card – then use the middle size circle to cut out the centre

Step 8

Stencil a pattern on the ring using Tim Holts Distress Inks – Mustard Seed – Mowed Lawn and the stencils.

Step 9

Mount on to the yellow card and trim round leaving a small border

Step 10

Sponge over the Viva Paper Flowers Mustard Seed – Mowed Lawn – then over stamp with Tim Holts Stamp Mixed Media and the Memento Ink Pads.

Step 11

Snip into the middle of the flower – overlap the edges slightly and secure with a hot glue gun to give the flower some depth.

Step 12

Work out where you want to place the circle on the background – which section you want to see through the middle.

Step 13

Raise the circles quite high on the canvas – I used 3 pegs for height and a solid base.

Step 14

Work out the spacing for the flowers before you fix them down.

Get out your bling – buttons and treasure box and go as mad as you like!

Isn't this beautiful?

Thank you for visiting today!
