A Pair of Little Darlings

Good Morning Crafters

Today we have a wonderful step by step tutorial by Tracey.

She has also include a review of the products from the Personal Impressions website she has used.

Items used for this project are as follows:
LDPI7012 – Shop Til you Drop Candi Bean Little Darlings Rubber Stamp
LDPI7005 – Abbi & Boots – Candi Bean Little Darlings Rubber Stamp
Personal Impressions – Premier Quality Smooth White Card
Studio Light – Quality Papers – JBS collection – PPJBS17
Eleganza Adhesive backed sparkly gems
From Tracey's own stash

2 x A4 300gsm Card Stock
Letraset Promarkers
Organza & Satin – Pink & Lilac ribbon
Polka dot buttons in Size 28 & 26
Pink Twine

To start I have stamped the Little darlings stamps on the ultra-smooth White card stock by Personal impressions using Black Tuxedo Memento Ink which works well when colouring with pens.

Now for the therapeutic bit and the colouring, I have used my Promarker pens for this project and the colours are shown or listed in the photos. I have chosen a colour scheme for the images based on the JBS collection as shown in Photo 1 which is pinks and lilacs.

All finished and ready to trim around and to start the construction of the cards. I have cut the cute the characters into panels for the cards today but you could fussy cut them out if you wish,

At this point of designing I have selected the papers I would like to use from the pad and placed everything out so I can see that everything works well before I start. I have rounded the corners on the images using an X-cut corner punch. Once you are happy with your colours and embellishments now we can start constructing the cards.

Firstly I have taken the A4 card sheets and cut them to create 2 square card blanks (14.8cm is the trim line for this shape).
Then using the 2 main backing pieces of patterned paper I have trimmed them to squares measuring at 13.8cm and then I have stuck them centrally on the card blanks.

Now it’s time to layer the other elements to create the cards, I have used coordinating papers to matt and layer the coloured images leaving an edge around each piece.

I am going to construct the card using the image called ‘Abbi & Boots’ first, I am a believer in things don’t have to be in neat rows all the time and with this one I have stuck the layers down off centre and at angles for a fun effect. I have left a strip down the left hand side so that I can then tie the 2 ribbons together down that side. The next stage is to tie the pink twine on each of the 3 pink polka dot buttons and I have then stuck these down alongside the ribbon.

Now I am working on the next image called ‘Shop Til You Drop’, this time I have gone with placing the layers on level and straight, this time gluing the image down in the bottom right hand corner of the card but again leaving the left hand side free for me to tie the 2 ribbons together. On this card I have used the twine on the buttons again but this time stuck them down along the top right hand side of the card.

Now it’s time to finish these super cute cards off with some ‘bling’ using the Sparkly adhesive gems, I have added details to the toppers and cards.

All finished and now we have a super cute pair of cards. You can add a sentiment or even a chipboard number for a special birthday or make more and make a notelet set for a special gift for someone.
Review of the Products used: Out of 5 Stars
I have to say I love stamping and these stamps are exceptional quality and stamp perfectly and great for colouring. – 5 Stars
The card from Personal Impressions is brilliant for colouring with pens as it doesn’t bleed or run due to being super smooth – 5 Stars
Studio Light – JBS collection pad – I love pastel colours and this pad is full of stunning papers to choose from and also a great thickness at 170gsm per sheet – Great to use for all projects – 5 Stars
Eleganza Sticker Gems – This is the second time I have used these gems and they stick to anything which is great as I have had some in the past from other companies that I have had to use glue to stick them properly. So well done Eleganza & Personal Impressions, they are great – 5 Stars
Thank you for stopping by Today!
