1. To start with tear up random pieces of brightly coloured patterned paper and attach to the canvas using Mod Podge.

2. Make another layer using torn, scrunched pieces of tissue paper of various colours, creating texture with ridges and creases. Allow some of the under layer to show through.

3. Use White Acrylic Paint or White Gesso to paint a thin transparent layer paint over the canvas, so that the colours/ patterns can be seen underneath.  This will give interest and dimension to your project.

4. Using any acrylic stamp design Stamp your chosen design and sentiment onto white tissue paper using Black ink.  Once dried tear them out.

5. Tear pieces of decorative/decoupage/sheet music and lay all the pieces, (including the stamped papers) on the canvas to position them.  Fix to the canvas using Mod Podge.

6. Use foam blenders with Distress Inks and Adirondack inks to create patches of colour, with blended areas. To give a more dimensional effect use darker ink on the edges. Once dried add detail to your canvas using stencils to create random patterns with the Distress Inks.

7. Die cut the trellis, keeping the cut outs.  Paint your cut outs using gold metallic paint.

8. Using embellishments from your crafty stash paint them in a co-ordinating paint.  Once dried fix to the canvas as shown using a strong craft glue.

Top Tip: When using Mod Podge use a flat brush to cover the area, this will give an even covering!
