Flower and Bottle Canvas
Good Morning Crafters
We have a step by step canvas tutorial by Pandy today.
She has used part of the new sets designed by Kathryn Halstead for the Sweet Dixie range.
Check out the Personal Impressions website for all the new products we have in the Sweet Dixie range.
You will need the following the create this project:
Small canvas – approx. 12cm x 17cm
Viva Chalk Paint in white
Sweet Dixie clear stamp – Daisy and Bottles (SDCSA6036)
Memento Inks in – Tuxedo Black – Bamboo Leaves – Lilac Posies – Grape Jelly
Versamark ink pad
Sweet Dixie embossing powder Antique Green (SDEP707)
Little dragonfly or butterfly embellishments
Hot glue gun
Small pieces of packing to raise the bottles
Stickles Stardust glitter glue
Step 1
Turn the canvas back to front and give a thorough coating with the viva white paint.
Step 2
Stamp the bottles and the label with Versamark ink and use the embossing powder. The powder in the bottle shows as green and red speckles – but the red looking speckles are actually a shiny gold when heated – it is so pretty.
Cut round the bottles and the label shape close to, but not into, the embossing powder
Step 3
Set up the bottles in the frame – put a couple at the back – and then use some strips of card / match sticks / big bead to make the front ones stand away from the frame.
Step 4
Stamp a couple of complete flowers – add the Bamboo Leaves to the stalk and the Grape Jelly to the heads. Then stamp loads of extra flower heads in the Lilac Poses and the Grape Jelly.
Step 5
Cut out the 2 complete flowers and stick to the backs of the bottles.
Back with a match stick for extra support.
Step 6
Then cut the other stamped flower head images into smaller petal sections and build from the back and the front of the single flower to create a big shaggy bloom head.
Step 7
Stamp a greeting with the Tuxedo Black in the centre of the label and fix to the corner. Add a few dragon flies round the flower heads – and add Stickles Stardust to the petals.
