You will require the following for this project:
Sweet Dixie – Bird Cage Cutting Die – Includes 2
birds
Sweet Dixie – A4 Card stock – Chocolate
Sweet Dixie – A4 Card Stock – Latte
Kaiser Crafts – Vintage Timeless 6 ½ “ Paper Pad
Sweet Dixie – Clear Stamps – Daisy and Bottles
Light Brown satin ribbon
Chipboard Plaque
Double Sided Tape
Promarker Pen Burnt Sienna & Gold marker pen
Wooden Woods
Matt Gold Card Stock
All available from all good craft stores
Step 1
To start my plaque I took the matt gold card stock and using the Bird Cage Cutting die I cut the cage and pressed the excess pieces out of it.
Step 2
Then using some off cuts of Chocolate Brown Card
stock and used the bird cutting dies and cut them out.
Step 3
This photo shows the elements needed to make the
plaque base design
Step 4
Firstly I covered the chipboard plaque with the
Latte Card stock.
Using the Kaiser Crafts Vintage Timeless paper
pad I chose 2 sheets to use and trimmed and die cut a shape out to use as
layering on the plaque.
I then tied the light brown satin ribbon through
the holes and then formed a bow at its hanging point.
Step 6
Now I have glued the Bird cage and bird die cuts
into place on the layered plaque
Step 7
I decided to distress the edges of the plaque at
this point just to add to the effect, which I have just done with a cosmetic
sponge and some Memento ink.
I have taken some wooden word embellishments for
this project and have decided to colour them to match the design, I simply just
used my marker pens to colour the top of the words and glued them in place on
the plaque.
Step 9
To finish the plaque I felt it needed something
else so I used my favourite Sweet Dixie Stamp set called Daisy and Bottles – I
stamped the 2 larger daisies on to some of the off cut Latte card stock in
Memento Brown ink and then fussy cut them out and glued them in place on the
plaque to add the final touch.
All finished and ready to give to that special friend for them to hang up with pride of place.
Very nice project. Lovely Sweet Dixie Dies & Stamps..
