Sweet Dixie Floral Card

Good Morning Crafters
 
Today we have a beautiful floral card tutorial by Samantha who has used Sweet Dixie dies designed by Sue Dix.

For this project you will need the following:
 Sweet Dixie Dies 
SDD096 Elegant Borders.
SDD102 Delicate Blossoms.
SDD105 Someone Special.
My Colours card stock.
Snowbound, Sweetie Pie and Slate
Eleganza Craft Stickers,
Pearls silver no.24
Pearls white no.01
Diamante/Pearl Wave x 5 strips.
Pink ribbon
 
Step 1
 
Die cut the flowers and leaves, To a special friend, words and the large border and shape the flowers with a ball tool on a foam mat.

 
Step 2
 
Layer the white words on top of the grey to give a shadow effect.
Colour the leaves green

 
Step 3
 
Arrange the flowers and leaves then glue them together.
Add a pearl and diamantes to centre of flowers.
 
 
Step 4
 
Glue a piece a ribbon underneath the large border and attach to the edge of card and add pearls to the border.
 
 
Step 5
 
Attach a matching piece of card the same as border and butt up to border.
Glue the words onto card.
Arrange the flowers and glue into place to finish

    And the colours and your design is wonderful.

An Interview with Sue Dix

Good Morning Crafters   Today we have an interview with Sue Dix, the designer of Sweet Dixie dies and stamps.     Sue's Sweet Dixie Dies can be found on the Personal Impressions website, on the home page you will find the Stockist Locator where you will be able to find a stockist near you!   Before we start here are a couple of pieces from Sue that she created.     Q. How and when did you first get into crafting? A. My mother was a crafter who encouraged me from a very early age. I was knitting from 5 years old, then sewing, crocheting, making paper flowers, basket weaving, patchwork, beading, cross stitch and more. But for as long as I can remember I have always loved drawing and painting. I studied art to A level, then after working for a high street bank for 9 years I spent over 20 years selling my hand painted stones, slates and house signs at local craft fairs, and I still exhibit at occasiona...
