Before I begin and explain how I created my card, I thought I might share the tip of removing ink from a stamp; generation stamping technique. On a scrap piece of paper, I stamp an image and then restamp and restamp writing beside each. This way I know how many times I need to remove the ink to create the look I require. See photo below:
Using scrap card or paper, draw and create a heart stencil. You could alternatively use a die if you prefer.
Depending on the size of your stencil, cut a piece of Personal Impressions smooth white card stock at least 2cms bigger (on all sides). For example my stencil was approx. 10cm, so I cut my card stock 13cm x 13xm.
Using your stencil, begin adding colour using Picked Raspberry and Spun Sugar distress inks. Once you are happy with the coverage, remove stencil.
Using the Cardio Collection Nuit Paris stamp set begin creating your scene using Ranger Archival Ink (black). I began with the Paris background, removing the ink on a scrap piece (3rd generation stamping) to create a shaded, distant effect.
Next add the small trees to the right corner, removing the ink on a scrap piece of paper once (2nd generation stamping). Stamp the small couple in among the trees using the same technique.
Stamp the Eiffel Tower image to the left hand side (2nd generation stamping) and mask off the image.
Stamp 2 small trees so that they appear behind the Eiffel Tower, remove the mask and stamp several large trees.
Next stamp the larger couple at the bottom of your heart.
With Pummice Stone distress ink, add subtle colour to the trees, Eiffel Tower and to add shadows.
Trim your topper and mount on to black card. My final topper size measures 10cm x 12cm.
As a finishing touch, I added a scrap of black lace to my card base (14cm x 14cm), added my topper raising with 3d foam. Finally I stamped the words "Love, Cherish and Hold" from Dali ART 'The Moment, Butterfly Swirl' stamp set, mounting on to black card and adding to the topper.
Isn't this just gorgeous?
Thank you for visiting and please leave some love for Louise.
