Brooch Canvas

Good Morning

Today we have a beautiful canvas from Pandy!

The inspiration behind this canvas was a broken brooch!

Products used by Pandy can be found on Personal Impressions Website
We have a stockist locator on the home page to check out a stockist near you!
Products used:

Memento Bamboo Leaves
Viva Décor Chalky Vinage Look Paint
Viva Décor Relief Paper Paste
Dylusions Ink Spray
Adirondack Dabber

Basics – PVA glue – hot glue gun – baby wipes – stencil
 Step 1

It all started with a broken china brooch that the chap next door gave me to ‘do something with’.  I have this reputation – people are always bringing me odd bits and bobs of treasure that they think I will like.
Step 2

I am in a ‘green’ phase at the moment so I dug out everything green I could find.  It’s amazing just how many products we have in our stash that are supplied by Personal Impressions – they stock such a huge range of well-known names.   Memento ink pad – Bamboo Leaves, Dylusions Zesty Lime, Adirondack paint dabber Citrus, the dark green Viva Chalky paint pot from the starter set and Viva paper flowers with the Viva texture paste – which are not green – but will be soon.
 Step 3

From your supplies you will also need – a small canvas, some newspaper.
Step 4

Collect up some flowers and foliage, background swirls and general decoration.  These are - white Viva flowers, flowers cut from Marianne Design Branch and Flower Die and Swirl Die and a few green leave I had in the drawer.
Step 5

Use the PVA to adhere the newspaper to cover the canvas.  The use a baby wipe to add the various paints.  Don’t be neat – patchy is good.  Use the ink pad to scrub round the edges of the canvas.  You can use a stamp as well to add a bit of extra background texture.
Step 6

Put a little of the texture paste into palate or saucer – add a little of the Citrus paint and mix together.  You don’t have to mix thoroughly – streaky is very pretty.
Step 7

I have used A Claudine Hellmuth stencil – Wall Flowers.
Step 8

Start building in the right hand corner with the branches and swirls, the leaves and the flowers and a couple of little thin twigs.  You could actually leave the canvas like this – it’s really pretty
Step 9

I have gone on to add the china brooch, a couple of rolled flowers, a bird’s nest charm, a butterfly, some liquid pearls in the background, stickles glitter glue on the flowers and stems.

Thank you for visiting Today!
